Making Lite of Lean: Staging your journey to Becoming a Lean Organisation

Lean Manufacturing (and Lean in general) is often seen as a useful approach to take - but far too complicated for many organisations. The authors realised from experience that the implementation of a true lean culture can be both +me consuming and resource intensive. They took a long, hard look at Lean and attempted not to simplify it but to distill it down to a few, core principles which could perhaps be applied using a smaller set of tools and techniques than ’full Lean’. The result is an approach to performance improvement which they called, for fairly obvious reasons, Lean Lite.
